| A nursery mother is a person who takes care of the children at her own house. There are both private and public nursery mother systems. The public systems vary per organization. Information on public systems is available at the nursery division or the division of health and welfare of your city. If there is no such system in your city, ask if there are other systems such under-qualified nursery schools (muninka hoikuenn) as and family support centers. |
保育ママとは自宅を利用して子どもを預かってくれる人で、民間と自治体が行っている保育ママ制度があります。自治体が行っている制度は、各自治体により実施状況はさまざまです。各市区町村の保育課や厚生課等で情報を得ることができます。自治体に、そういう制度がない場合は、無認可保育園、ファミリーサポートセンターなど他に使える制度はないか尋ねてください。

| As a rule, day care is provided at the caretaker's home. At the centers established at each city, citizens in the area who want to take care of children and those who have children that need to be taken care of can register themselves and be arranged with one another. This is a mutual community support activity, so it is usually of the sort that comes up in situations like ""I can't make it to the nursery in time to pick up my children,"" ""I'm a professional mother but I'd like to have a little break,"" ""I can't go to work until my child's completely over being sick so I'm stuck!"" etc., to help each other cover and complement one another. 原則として保育者の自宅で保育します。市ごとに設けられたセンターが、地域住民に募って子どもを預かりたい会員と預けたい会員を登録し斡旋します。地域の相互援助活動なので、主に二重保育、病児保育、一時保育･･・「保育園のお迎えに間に合わない」「専業ママだけどちょっと預けたい」「病気が完全に治るまで仕事に行けないのは困る！」･･･など保育園の通常保育でカバーできない補完的な役割を果たしています。詳細については、お近くのファミリー・サポートセンターにお問い合わせ下さい。
