Currently, the members registered at GCN fall under two groups: "Core users" (international students registered at Osaka University, the main targets of the site) and individually registered members , Stuff at Osaka University,Graduate students.

現在、GCNのメンバーは、阪大に学籍がある留学生を主体とするコア・メンバーと、自主的に登録申請したメンバー、大阪大学教職員、大阪大学卒業生などによってなりたっています。

Contribution of Contents / コンテンツ配信

The aim for GCN Osaka is to have users directly contribute to the website’s content rather than have a webmaster have sole control over the site’s content. The system is set up so that the 57 outside users (of which 14 are from local volunteer groups) are registered as “content contributors” and can directly contribute information (such as information on events).

GCN Osakaでは、Webマスターが情報をもっぱら編集するのではなく、できるだけ、情報の発信者が直接、書き込みをできる体制をとることを目標にしています。このため、学内外の57名 (学外は、地域のボランティア団体など14名) の方を「コンテンツ配信者」として登録し、この方々に直接情報 (たとえばイベント情報) を入力してもらえるようなシステムを制作した。とくに、住宅については２００５年９月より生協と北千里商店街の協力により、阪大周辺の留学生向け物件情報を掲載している。

<The number of registered graduate users.>

Passwords were given to the graduates of 2003 and they were asked to fill in their personal details. After the graduates of 2004 GCN Osaka changed to a system whereby all students could use the one common password.

＜卒業生の登録状況＞

２００３年度の卒業生に対してIDおよびパスワードを配布し個人情報の登録を呼びかけた。また、２００４年度以降の卒業生に対しては、GCN Osakaと同一のIDとパスワードを使うことができるようにシステム変更をおこなった。

GCN worldwide, the current status of how it is used and steps towards upgrading it

GCN Worldwide利用状況の改善にむけて

The current status of the use of the Worldwide GCN page is far from was originally planned. The reasons for this are explained in detail below.

1.Upon registering with the GCN worldwide site it is difficult to see in a tangible or evidential sense the merits of linking the university and its graduates.

2.The university aims to publish an online magazine, and have regular email/messages with foreign graduates and so forth in the future.

3.It is essential that effort is put into the movement of face to face networks together with graduate networks online.

現状のWorldwideの利用状況は、当初の計画とはまったくかけ離れたものとなっているが、その理由と克服すべき課題は以下のようなものでると考えられる。

１． GCN Worldwideに登録することによって、目に見える形で大学や同窓生とつながっているというメリットが見えてこない。

２．大学からメルマガを配信するなど、大学として海外の卒業生へメッセージを定期的に送信することが望まれる。

３．オンラインでの同窓生ネットワーク化とFace to Faceのネットワーク化を連動させるような努力をおこなう必要がある。
