"Housing Information/Counseling Fair for International Students" / 『留学生のための住宅相談会』

For international students and researchers at Osaka University, securing a place to live is an extremely important issue. For securing private housing, as a rule, international students are to independently seek housing through realtors.	大阪大学の留学生や外国人研究者にとって、宿舎の確保は極めて重要な課題となっています。民間住宅を借りる時には、不動産業者を通じて物件の紹介・案内をしてもらうなど、原則として自分で探すことになっています。
However, this proves to be a problem for some students, particularly for students in Sciences or Engineering. Much of their time is spent in the research laboratories and it is difficult for them to find time to visit real estate agents. In response to these concerns, the Advisory Division for International Students (Graduate School of Engineering, Osaka University), in cooperation with CO-OP and the shopping mall of Kitasenri（Dios Kitasenri）will hold a counseling fair on housing on campus.	しかし、理工系の学生にとっては、研究室内での実験研究に多くの時間をとられ、なかなか不動産業者に出向く時間もありません。そこで、工学部留学生相談部では留学生センターと共催し、また生協ならびに北千里商店街（ディオス北千里専門店会）のご協力を得て、学内にて住宅相談会を開催することにしました。
The counseling fair will consist of general counseling/guidance concerning housing rental as well as offers and showings of available properties (some dealers may be offering on-location tours of specific properties). There will also be guidance aimed at Osaka University's regular exchange students concerning the liability/cosignatory systems for housing rental. The event is open not only to foreign students but also to academic staff or representatives that are searching for housing on behalf of foreigners.	相談会では、賃貸住宅に関する相談一般、住宅情報の提供と物件紹介（業者によっては、現地見学も可能）、さらに大阪大学の正規留学生を対象とした「賃貸住宅連帯保証制度」に関する相談を受付けています。留学生のみならず留学生のかわりに住居を探している先生方、秘書の方々にご参加いただいています。
The counseling fair takes place twice a year after the presentation of the move-in dates and results of Osaka University International House and Osaka University Foreign Student House. The fairs are set up to help international students that may have been hoping to live in such residences but were not chosen in the lottery.	相談会の開催時期は、大阪大学国際交流会館、大阪大学留学生会館などの留学生宿舎への入居決定時期にあわせて年に2回開催され、それぞれの宿舎へ入居希望していながら抽選にはずれた学生への便宜を図ることにも寄与しています。
