In Japanese elementary schools, we often make ‘school newsletters’.

There are a lot of very important information such as school events and attentions.  Nevertheless, in this newsletter, there are a large number of words that are difficult for foreign people to understand.

The volunteer group ‘Akari’ in Hokkaido did a volunteer activity, they translated school newsletters published from the school and delivered them.  Based on their experience, they made a booklet ‘Minna de issho ni’ which is a glossary, useful at school as they hope that foreigners’ understanding of Japanese school life will deepen little by little and foreigners will have joyful school lives.

Based on the booklet made by the members of ‘Akari’, GCN Osaka made a web-version of ‘Minna de issyo ni’, which expanded on the explanations and added photos for the words that are otherwise difficult to understand with only a text description.  Please use it when you read the news letters from school. 		  日本(にほん)の小学校(しょうがっこう)では、よく「お知(し)らせのプリント(ぷりんと)」を作(つく)ります。
  学校(がっこう)の行事(ぎょうじ)予定(よてい)や注意(ちゅうい)することなどとても大事(だいじ)な情報(じょうほう)がたくさん載(の)っています。  けれども、このプリント(ぷりんと)には外国人(がいこくじん)にはよくわからない言葉(ことば)がたくさん出(で)てきます。
  北海道(ほっかいどう)にある「あかり」というボランティア(ぼらんてぃあ)グループ(ぐるーぷ)の皆(みな)さんは学校(がっこう)から出(で)るお知(し)らせのプリント(ぷりんと)を翻訳(ほんやく)して届(とど)けるボランティア(ぼらんてぃあ)活動(かつどう)をしました。  この活動(かつどう)をきっかけに、外国(がいこく)から来(き)た人(ひと)たちの日本(にほん)の学校(がっこう)に対(たい)する理解(りかい)がすこしずつ深(ふか)まり、楽(たの)しい学校(がっこう)生活(せいかつ)がすごせることを願(ねが)って、学校(がっこう)で使(つか)う用語集(ようごしゅう)「みんなでいっしょに」というパンフレット(ぱんふれっと)を作(つく)りました。
  GCN Osakaでは、「あかり」の皆(みな)さんが作(つく)ったパンフレット(ぱんふれっと)を基(もと)に文字(もじ)だけではわからない言葉(ことば)や物(もの)について、説明(せつめい)と写真(しゃしん)を付(つ)け加(くわ)えたWeb版(ばん)「みんなでいっしょに」をつくりました。  学校(がっこう)からのお知(し)らせのプリント(ぷりんと)を読(よ)むときに使(つか)ってください。
