Insurance can not be used for expectant and nursing mother examinations. The fee for each examination is around 5000-10,000 yen. (Ultrasound and blood tests may require an additional fee) If problems arise during the course of pregnancy, it will be treated as insured medical treatment (example: miscarriage, pregnancy toxicosis、etc.) Depending on the location, a portion of the examination may be provided for free. For details, please refer to the mother and child health handbook. |
