1. About Overseas Studies / 海外留学とは

(1) Forms of studying abroad / 留学の形態

There are various forms of studying abroad. You may choose to do a formal exchange with one of our sister-schools while remaining an Osaka University student during your degree, you may take time off school and go study abroad, or you could attend a graduate school abroad after completing your degree. Depending on the form of overseas studies you choose, your status at the accepting institution and your credits will vary. You should consider aspects such as your future plans and period of study and choose the form which suits your best interest.

留学には、様々な形態があります。大阪大学に在学したままで (修業期間中に) 交流協定大学へ交換留学する場合、休学して留学する場合、また、大阪大学卒業後、海外の大学の正規課程に入学して学位取得を目指す場合などがあります。どのような形態で留学するかにより、受入れ先での身分、修得単位の取り扱いにも違いが生じます。あなたの就職や進学等の将来設計、大学生活の中での自分に適した留学時期などについてよく考え、あなたの目的にかなった形態の留学を目指してください。

(2) The process / 留学の手続き

Abroad studies which do not comply with Osaka University's regulations or to enter the accepting University as a regular student and complete a degree, you must take time off, withdraw, or graduate the University. For details on the process in these cases, please visit the department of school affairs for your faculty. If interested in going on a formal exchange which comply with the university regulations, please follow to the following chapter - II Osaka University Exchange Program.

大阪大学の交流協定に基づかない留学や海外の大学の正規課程に入学し学位取得を目指す場合には、休学 (あるいは退学、卒業) することになります。その場合の手続きの詳細については、所属部局の教務掛等に問い合わせてください。交流協定に基づく交換留学を行う際の手続き等については、次章「II.大阪大学交換留学制度を利用しての留学」を参照してください。

(3) Following your curriculum abroad and transferring credits after returning / 留学先での科目履修と帰国後の単位認定

Credits gained through abroad studies which do not comply with Osaka University, or gained as regular students as a mean of completing a degree at a foreign university, will not be accepted, or transferred as Osaka University credits, by principle. The following is a rough chart but please use it as a reference.

大阪大学の交流協定に基づかない留学や海外の大学の正規課程に入学し学位取得を目指す留学の場合には、原則として、留学先での修得単位を大阪大学の単位として認定することができません。以下に、大まかなチャートを示しておきますので参考にしてください。
