4. Studying Abroad through the Osaka University Exchange Program / 大阪大学交換留学制度を利用しての留学

What is the Osaka University Exchange Program / 大阪大学交換留学制度とは

(1) Points about the System	(1) 制度のポイント
Students who study at a university which has an exchange agreement with Osaka University study abroad while being registered at Osaka University, and so long as they pay their fees to Osaka University they are not required to pay any fees at the university they are studying abroad at. Time spent studying abroad also counts towards study time required for graduation, so it is possible to graduate in the standard amount of time. Further, units which are earned while studying abroad which have been recognized and approved by the department can count towards the units needed for graduation.	大阪大学が学生交流協定を締結し授業料不徴収の取り決めを結んでいる海外の大学へ交換留学する場合は、大阪大学に在学した形での留学となり、大阪大学での授業料を支払えば、留学先大学での授業料を支払う必要はありません。留学中の在学期間も修業年限に通算されますので、所定修業年限内での卒業も可能です。また、留学先で修得した単位のうち所属部局で認められた単位については、大阪大学の卒業必要修得単位に算入することができます。

However, the number of students that are admitted to each school may change from year to year. Every year, the number of exchange students that will be accepted is fitted to the internal selection process, so please keep this in mind. Further, specialized graduate schools such as law school, business school, etc. are often not available for exchange students, so please check the homepage of the university beforehand. Also, for departments and graduate schools which have their own contracts (inter-department), you should inquire at the administration office of the department.	なお、各協定校ごとに留学できる人数は年によって変動があります。毎年、学内選考の募集時期に合わせて人数をお知らせしますので、注意してください。また、Law School、Business Schoolなど、専門家育成の大学院では交換留学対象となっていないところが多いので、事前にHPなどで確認してください。また、学部・大学院が独自で締結している協定 (部局間協定) による交換留学を希望する場合は、所属部局の教務掛等へ問い合わせてください。
(2) Schedule	(2) スケジュール
For students who wish to study abroad on this system, there is an internal selection process which begins approximately one year prior to the beginning of the exchange program. This process results in unofficial acceptances, which will be forwarded to the contracted school to be considered for official acceptance through Osaka University.	この制度を利用した留学の場合、留学開始時期の概ね一年前に学内選考があります。選考の結果、採用を内定した学生については、大阪大学を通じて協定校あて正式の受け入れ申請を行います。

(3) Scholarships and Bursaries for Exchange Students	(3) 交換留学対象の奨学金等
According to Osaka University's exchange program, students who have been selected to study abroad on either inter-university programs or inter-departmental programs are candidates to receive the following scholarships and bursaries.	大阪大学交換留学制度により大学間協定校あるいは部局間協定校に留学する場合、学内選考の選考結果（全体順位）に従い、下記の奨学金等の採用候補者となります。
1. Japan Student Support Organization (JASSO) Short-term Students Exchange Promotion Program * Amount: 80,000 yen/month * Period of Availability: Students studying between 3-12 months * Number Available: Determined by JASSO (however, foreign exchange students are not candidates for this scholarship)	1. 日本学生支援機構 (JASS) 短期留学推進制度 (派遣) 奨学金 * 金額: 月額8万円 * 支給期間: 3ヶ月以上12ヶ月以内の留学期間 * 人数: JASSOからの奨学金支給割当数 (ただし外国人留学生は対象外)
2. Osaka University Exchange Support (Varies by budget) * Amount: 200,000 yen / year * Number Available: 10 people per year (must not be a recipient of scholarship 1)	2. 大阪大学後援会海外派遣助成金 (予算により変更あり) * 金額: 年間20万円程度 * 人数: 1年に10名程度 (ただし1の採用者は対象外)
3. Osaka University Foreign Travel Insurance Support System (Varies by budget) * Amount: Insurance fees paid (upper limit of 80,000 yen) * Number Available: 20 people per year (must not be a recipient of either scholarship 1 or 2)	3. 大阪大学海外旅行傷害保険料補助制度 (予算により変更あり) * 金額: 支払った保険料 (8万円を上限とする) * 人数: 1年に20名程度 (ただし1及び2の採用者は対象外)
However, in each case, students who are receiving scholarships and financial aid for exchange students from other organizations do not have candidacy for these scholarships. To apply for scholarship 1 or 2, please mark whether or not you wish to apply for these on the	なお、いずれの場合も、他機関から海外留学に関する奨学金・助成金等を受給する者は、対象外となります。申請方法ですが、1と2については「交換留学 (派遣) 申請書」に希望の有無を記入してください。希望者には、選考後、申請可否、必要書類等について所属部局を通じて連絡します。3については、別途各部局あて募集要項を送ります ので、それに基づいて申請手続きを行ってください。
